Porsche 911 Targa Sportomatic - 1968
for sale
This 1968 911 is truly a rare car. 1968 was the first year of production for the Sportomatic transmission and the last year of production for the short-wheelbase 911, thus making this car a low production example.
The Sportomatic was invented from Porsche actually for the race cars to make the shifting fast and easy, for example at le mans and it is until today a very nice experience to drive. The gearbox has 4 gears forward and no clutch pedal.
This beautiful 911 Targa was extensively restored in Holland by a Porsche specials, the car is in concourse condition and there are pictures available from the restoration. The last owner drove 3.537 km after restoration and it drives fantastic. The car shows all original details and is fitted with period front fog lamps. This car is the best 1968 911 Targa we have seen and it is a truly a special car.
